THE SCRATCHER SERIES 2011

The idea inspiring this series is a somewhat cynical reflection on a lottery game
played in most states called, 'Scratchers'. People buy these lottery tickets which cost $1 to $5
and have dollar symbols or similar type images such as treasure chests or cherries
that are scratched off to reveal a fortune or prize.

One hopes to win by having the winning numbers or matching symbols.
The winnings are various amounts of money from $1 to $10,000.

These paintings are oil on canvas with the 'Scratchers' overlay of paint having
different colors of glitter added to the symbols.
The frames are all custom made then painted with metallic paint to match the glitter.
